Piece of Pure Art

(download)

I'm so excited to find that I've had not one but FOUR photos of mind published within 1 month on the online magazine, "The Upcoming", (http://www.theupcoming.co.uk/). They have an area -  'Today's piece of pure art' - which is dedicated to interesting photos from independent artists. It's great to see my work on their website repeatedly!

The first one one was a fun photoshoot that I did with my dear friend, Cecile, while we were in Brighton. She lay on the beach as if she was a Brighton mermaid waiting to be picked up by prince charming..except that this mermaild was wearing a beautiful embroidered dress by Lanvin rather than being half-naked!

The second was taken in New Bond Street and happened in a flash moment while I was strolling around. All of a sudden a beautiful lady in a vintage outfit came out of nowhere. I quickly got my camera out and took a snap.

The third one is one of my studio shots while I was doing a fashion photography course at London College of Fashion - the theme was 'Circus'.

Finally, the fourth one was of my friend, yep her again - CC! We were in one of the cafes in Portabello market and I just caught her while she was paying her bill.

All the images that were selected by 'The Upcoming' website have been kept on their photostream which can be found at:

And here's a big version of my 4 pictures that they chose to put on their site:

Model Hunting

(download)

The model searching continues... So I went to Brick Lane planning to find a female model as mentioned in my previous post. I knew that I should be able to find someone there..we all know that this area is full of cool, funky poeple and all sorts of characters..so it shouldn't be hard to find my lovely model right? Nope, it wasn't quite like that. I spent the whole..whole day to get hold of a decent looking person but it ended up with eithe him or her being here just for holiday and planning to go home in a few days OR they were actually already models and so I couldn't use them (as they are not allowed to take any work outside their agency). There were also some people who looked very nice but didn't fit with my concept. Anyway, instead of wasting my time I thought I would just snap some images of the beautiful people I met.

By the evening on the way back, my feet were killing me after walking on wedge boots for 8 hours. All I wanted was just home sweet home. On the way to my house I spotted that they had the London Tattoo event at Tobacco Dock. Hmmm..shall I go home to rest or keep going with my model search? I decided to go out and headed to the event.

Thank God I did. After managing (unknowingly) to get in without a ticket, I finally got my female model that I was looking for! Her look is something that I have had in my head, a blonde bombshell with a querky look, so I'm very pleased to have met her before giving up!  I can't wait for this photoshoot to begin. So watch this space and let the drama begin!

These sets of pictures were taken during my course at London College of Fashion. I really enjoyed my time there - it was great to be working with an amazing team and pretty models.

Now, my next project is 'Film Noir'. I want to do this test-shoot around next weekend but at the moment my team and I are struggling to find the right models. So if anyone's interested to create a great portfolio together, please let me know (we are looking for both males and females). Also, we are looking for a stylist to work with us. Please email me at tussunee@gmail.com.
